There are plenty of smaller improvements and fixes too.

You can now tell DigiNode Dashboard to stop asking about a DigiByte Core update, DigiNode Tools checks for its own updates every hour, and DigiByte Core gets more time to shut down safely. There are several fixes too.

I hope this release, the biggest in a long time, makes up for it. DigiNode Tools now supports DigiByte Core v9, and new DigiByte Core releases are verified automatically, so you no longer have to wait for me before you can upgrade. You can also choose which version to run, delete blockchain data from a new menu and hide your IP addresses in DigiNode Dashboard. There's an important security fix too.

v0.11.3Release Notes30 April 2025DigiNode Tools v0.11.3: Dashboard enhancements - new port tester, mempool transactions, peer connection counts, and moreDigiNode Dashboard can now check that other nodes can reach yours. Its new port tester, built for DigiNode Tools, tests your nodes at IPv4, IPv6 and onion addresses. DigiNode Dashboard also shows each node's mempool and its incoming and outgoing connections, and there are plenty of smaller improvements and fixes.

v0.10.10Release Notes24 February 2025DigiNode Tools v0.10.10: Raspberry Pi 5 support, blockchain disk usage, DigiByte Core v8.22.1 and moreDigiNode Tools now fully supports the Raspberry Pi 5, including booting from an NVMe SSD, and can install DigiByte Core v8.22.1. DigiNode Dashboard shows how much disk space each blockchain uses, and DigiNode Setup and DigiNode Dashboard show their version number when they start. There's also an important fix for upgrading from a DigiByte Core pre-release.

Two commands have easier names too, and there are several fixes.

DigiNode Tools can also install DigiByte Core v8.22.0-rc4, updates are more reliable, and newer Raspberry Pi models are recognised.

It no longer flickers, and DigiFacts now come from their own repository, ready for anyone to use.

DigiNode Tools also has a new home at diginode.tools, a --help flag lists every option, and there are plenty of improvements and fixes.

There's an optional custom MOTD that greets you when you log in, step-by-step instructions for setting up a DigiNode on a Raspberry Pi, and wallet backups to a USB stick are now checked.

The Status Monitor can watch a DigiByte node you set up yourself, you can run just a DigiAsset Node on a device that can't manage a full node, and diginode.settings now upgrades itself with each release.

The first test releases of DigiNode Tools came out in November 2021, mainly to try out how it updates itself. By May 2022 it could back up your DigiByte wallet and DigiAsset settings to a USB stick, and it had a new name for its installer: DigiNode Setup.

NewsNews10 September 2021How DigiNode began: "I made a thing!"On 10 September 2021 I shared a little bash script on X that monitored a DigiByte full node running on a Raspberry Pi 4. It was the first time I'd ever written a bash script. Within weeks it had a name, a status monitor and the beginnings of an installer: the start of what became DigiNode Tools.
