DigiNode Tools v0.0.9: The first releases, USB backups and more
Where it all began. The first test releases of DigiNode Tools came out in November 2021, mainly to try out how it updates itself. By May 2022 it could back up your DigiByte wallet and DigiAsset settings to a USB stick, and it had a new name for its installer: DigiNode Setup.

The first releases New
DigiNode Tools v0.0.1 was the first test release, in November 2021, followed two days later by v0.0.2, a test of the update mechanism. In May 2022, several releases in a row (v0.0.7 to v0.0.9) tested and fixed how DigiNode Tools finds and installs its own new versions.
USB backups New
DigiNode Setup can now back up your DigiByte wallet to a USB stick, and your DigiAsset settings too. Until you’ve made a backup, it reminds you to.
Other improvements and fixes
- Improvement DigiNode Setup - Every mention of “DigiNode Installer” is now “DigiNode Setup”, and it was installed from diginode-setup.digibyte.help.
- Improvement DigiAsset settings kept in step - Changes to the RPC username, password or port in digibyte.conf are copied to the DigiAsset Node’s settings (main.json) when you run Update.
- Improvement A clean uninstall - Uninstalling resets the settings in diginode.settings, and can keep a local backup of your DigiAsset settings. This fixed a bug in v0.0.4 where updating the DigiAsset Node could erase its settings.
- Fix No reboot needed - A reboot should no longer be needed after the first install.
- Fix Lots of fixes - The Status Monitor’s software update checks, the backup feature, how diginode.settings stores its values, and countless other bugs.
